Mentored Reviews - Edorium Journals


We want Edorium Journals to be is an interactive forum for researchers and institutions in all countries. With this thought in mind we have started a new academic program - Mentored Reviews. This program will enable students - Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Fellows/PhD's/Postdoctoral - from any country, to be mentored by the distinguished faculty which comprises the Editorial Boards of journals published by Edorium Journals group.

What will this program give the student?

  • A unique chance to have a publication with an international faculty
  • A chance of being mentored by our distinguished members of the Editorial Board
  • Get a guidance in writing academic articles from specialists
  • The final published article has two authors - The student and the mentor
  • No publication charges when the article is accepted for publication
  • Become the author of a peer reviewed article co-authored with an international faculty

The journal published by Edorium Journals group, which is most suited based on the topic of the Mentored Review.
Five journals published by Edorium Journals group will be suggested to the authors.

How to enroll (For students)

  • Decide on a topic on which you want to write a review article.
  • Find out if you have enough resources (if required by the topic; e.g. clinical images, photos, figures, photomicrographs, etc.) to write a review article (e.g. if you are writing a review article in radiology, please make sure that you have radiology images to include in the article). The mentor may also contribute the above resources to include in the article.
  • Select a mentor from the list of available Editors based on his/her area of expertise.
  • Download the proposal form here.
  • Fill all the required information in the form.
  • Submit the proposal form to Edorium Journals at the email given below.
  • Your proposal will be sent to the mentor for review.
  • You will be informed of the decision on your proposal within 5-7 days.
  • When your proposal is accepted by the mentor, you will be sent detailed instructions about how to proceed further.
  • If there is no mentor available in your area of expertise, please check later. Mentors are added at regular intervals. We are sure you will soon find one in your specialty.

** Special Provision for number of authors of the article

We understand that in some cases it may be necessary for the student, especially undergraduate and postgraduate students to work under direct supervision of seniors or faculty members in the same department/institute. If any senior or a faculy member makes a substantive intellectual contribution to the manuscript as defined by the guidelines for authorship credits, he/she will be given due recognition as a co-author of the article.

  • In this case the order of authors of the article will be: Student (First author), Mentor (Second author), Student's supervisor (Third author)
  • Maximum number of authors for any mentored review is three.
  • The student will be required to disclose the information about an additional author in the mentored review proposal form, at the time of submitting the proposal to Edorium Journals.
  • No change in number or names of author(s) will be allowed after the proposal is submitted for review to Edorium Journals.


Terms

One mentor can guide only one student at any given time.
One mentor can guide not more than three students in one calender year.
If a mentor is unable to participate in the mentoring program, alternate mentors of the same specialty will be suggested to the students.
Every author will be required to sign an MRA Agreement after the mentor accepts the proposal and before the mentoring can start.
Identity of the student will not be disclosed to the mentor till the time the proposal is accepted and the mentor signs the MRA agreement.
Every manuscript will undergo stringent, anonymous editorial and external expert double-blind peer review.
The manuscript will be submitted to a journal published by Edorium Journals group, which is most suited based on the topic of the Mentored Review. Five journals published by Edorium Journals group will be suggested to the authors. Authors will be also be free to select any other journal published by Edorium Journals group.
Identity of the handling editor and expert referees will not be disclosed to the authors (student and mentor) at any stage of the manuscript review and publication process.
